Tomball checking in, just steady drizzle all afternoon. Supposed to be lots of rain tomorrow for greater Houston area.

My folks have a beach house close to San Luis pass, it got wiped out with Ike, hoping they get a break this time.

I fired up the generator earlier, first time since Ike, I was surprised it started, the lord blessed me right there!!

I stopped in the grocery store just down the street to grab a couple of things I needed. The lines were a little long, but all the shelves were more or less full. I realized I'd forgotten something after I left, and stopped off at a grocery store about eight miles away that was on the way to where I was headed. Water, bread and cheese shelves practically empty, looong lines with every mother's son and daughter buying eggs.

This is in Austin, folks, well away from any potential problems other than flooding.

Yeah, this is a mess.

The models showing it circling back around...they may be getting hit with a 3 day hurricane and 30" of rain.

Even if that is only half true...that's enough to change a landscape.

Another band of rain just started as I was leaving the grocery store. On a positive note, HEB was well stocked, and I even managed to pick up some Ayinger Oktoberfest which I've been in search of for nearly 3 weeks.

On a funny note, Facebook has a feature to let people know you're safe during a natural disaster. You can even request help, and as you can imagine there is some pretty creative writing going on including this one:

The news is saying there are collapsed buildings in Rockport with people entrapped.

I've done a lot of hurricanes. Last Cat 4 was Florida in 2004 or so. This is a bad one. Really hoping for the best for those down there.
