I know we have a few vets here. We recently lost a female cat. She was about ten yo. She got sick. Would eat and drink but would occasionally vomit mostly liquid. Made an appointment to see the vet. When she went in her kidney test came back not very good. She had been in good health. Although she had always been very thin. Great appetite always. We decided to let the vet flush her kidneys and recheck the values. They did over the course of a few day. The test came back better but not great. The vet thought she may be ok but would need some in home therapy and periodic checks. We were ok with that. She ended up having and issue and needed to be euthanized unfortunately.

Fast forward. We have four other indoor cats. All 8-12 years old. One started to sneeze. Then another. And now a third one. Otherwise they are fine. Took the second one to the vet. Nothing off the charts wrong with him. Possibly a virus. So the vet has given us some things to do. Also giving them some L-Lysine. We are in contact with the vet. But just wondering if you guys have some thoughts.
We have all lived in the same house so nothing has really changed. Maybe just a kitty cold?

Two biggies are the Kitty Feline Immune system deficiency Virus (like AIDS), I remember when it became well known in the mid to late 70s. Took a few of our cats, and it was horrible, trying everything.

The second is the leukemia virus. (I had heard of people's cats having leukemia but did not it was transmissible).

Hope your current kitties are just trading harmless germs.

One of our cats is sneezing and our vet said to try Zyrtec. We give her half a pill (5mg) in the morning and it seemed to have reduced helped.

Talk to your vet but it may just be allergies.

Thanks Sigmonkey. She was a real sweetheart. She was the protector of the family. She was tiny but had a ton of fight in her if need be. We all definitely miss her.

Cats can get kennel cough too so maybe ask about that one.
I don't think it's a real serious disease but I know our dogs get a vaccination for it annually.

We lost a Siamese to Leukemia. Not the feline leukemia. Poor baby.

I think it can be serious.
I rescued 2 kittens from a feral that nested in our woodpile. They were in perfect health as far as I could tell and after a couple weeks of socializing, I brought them in to the Humane Society.
Several yrs. later I inquired about them and according to records, one had died from a respiratory cough before being adopted.

no coughing, it is a sneezing and runny nose thing. Thanks guys.
