Sorry, I haven't followed up with a thread I started. I've been sleeping / napping a bunch considering the heavy drugs I'm on for pain. This is the chair I was given by my Dad:

It's quite comfortable and am very lucky to have received it.

I have a 15 year old Lazy Boy that is wonderful, even for me with sciatica, it gives me some relief. USA made (at least back then), leather chair. Manual tilt (via a handle), and some further adjustment based on your position and movements. I don't know if I could recommend a current model.

Love my Ekornes Stressless. With my wrecked back it's the only chair I can sit in for any length of time, so comfortable that drifting off to sleep in it is a regular occurrence.

My wife has had three back surgeries and two did not go well. The most comfortable chairs we have in the house are these from Scandinavian Designs. Expensive, but we've had ours for about fifteen years. Stress less recliner
