I guess they cant have crowds listening from outside cuz covid.

My dad died from Covid a few weeks ago, there were only about 30 people at the funeral but the funeral home didn’t seem to care (this was in Missouri). We only had a graveside service that ended up being inside a mausoleum since it was 50 degrees and raining so maybe that’s why they didn’t care. They also recorded it so people can view it online. There may be an occasion where someone wanted to be there but couldn’t make it but I’ll never watch a funeral online. If I can’t be there in person then I’m not going to see it at all.

Wonder if the plagues from the dark ages had less fear and misinformation spread about them?

Seems like we might be witch hunting again any day now.

My FIL passed mid March just as the lock down madness began. He wished to be cremated so there's no rush to have a "non funeral." The restrictions are lifting here so we'll do it this summer.

A friend of mine lost 3 family members, mom & uncles due to covid spread at a funeral. They were older ...
I went to one of a younger guy. Everybody was less than 65 & healthy. No employees that I saw.
We hugged, shook hands ...No big deall.

We've been having drive-through visitations.

An old friend, that I've lost touch with, recently lost his 15 year old son to a tragic accident.

Because of the pandemic social distancing concerns and the governor's orders, family and friends were required by the funeral home to sit in their cars and listen to a broadcast of the service over their radios.

This fear and social distancing mask wearing has caused a real loss in civility and basic decency, including paying our respects to lost loved ones and comforting and showing compassion for their families and friends.
