Anyone have a different/interesting collection? Not gun related?
I dabbled in skateboarding in High School and College. A few years ago my boys wanted to start skating so I started dabbling again with them.
Always liked Jamie Thomas and when he started bringing his faith to the sport I really liked that as Christianity certainly isn’t on the forefront in the skate world. My faith is super important to me and my life so when Zero released a foil series of Jamie’s Cross Pro board I had to have it. I was a little late to the game but my local shop got the 3rd one in so I had to have it. Local shop was able to get a hold of the 2nd. I was able to find the 1st online.
The first 3 were limited to 300 boards each. The 1st was made on Christmas Day, the 2nd made on Easter the following year, and the 3rd was made on Easter the following year.
Then they ended up doing a 4th limited to 350 and signed by Jamie but no stamped made on date so had to get that as well.

Shortly after I was able to have the whole collection the owner of the local skate shop called me and said he just got some grip tape in and I need to come and get it.
He was right.

I won’t be skating any of the limited foil decks I plan on hanging them on the wall to my shop. Just need to get around to it.
So I bought a blank deck and put the Crucifixion grip tape on it.

Ex wives.

Guns and watches are cheaper.

Knowing what one is talking about is widely admired but not strictly required here.

Although sometimes distracting, there is often a certain entertainment value to this easy standard.

Baseball cards. The junk wax cards were roughly ‘86-‘94. Which are the years cards were massively over produced, killing their value. And making some unscrupulous jackasses a lot of money. Would anyone like to take a guess what years I collected cards?

Torque Wrenches! Seriously, I have ELEVEN 'different' Torque Wrenches...Plus a couple of duplicates! I use 3 of them VERY regularly, and have several vintage models in quite mint condition. Until yesterday, all were Micrometer types, but I just purchased my first Dial type wrench. I plan to verify the calibration on that one and intend to use it to check calibration of the others in my collection. What can I say, I'm a Gear Head! Wink

I was a stay-at-home uncle for several yrs. when my work closed and my brother's (now ex) wife went back to school.

I got the two of them playing LAN games w/ me at a very young age and then to get them off the computer, I started buying board games.
I've got a small collection.
Good for the brain. Good for young and old to stay social.

The nephews are in their twenties now but I play somewhat regularly w/ some old friends once a week or so in person or online. Board games online are the next best thing.

Ain’t that the truth!
Ex wives have cost me a BUNCH of money to keep my pension.
Wouldn’t trade it for anything!

I do have a rather unique knife collection.
Some VERY low serial number knives, no clue on what they are actually worth. Probably not much.

My wife says I collect collections.
She might be right about that.
I collect a lot of things but mostly watches, knives, western boots, antique pulleys, blacksmithing anvils, anything Garage and automotive type decor and recently GMRS & Ham handheld radios. To name a few. Razz

Back in high school I was a major aviation nerd and collected commercial airliner postcards. I have a couple of binders full of them, but haven't acquired any new ones in years. Every now and then I'll take them down and flip through them, though...there's some good nostalgia in there.

I have a decent sized Transformers collection. Still have all of the original ones from my childhood in the 80s plus quite a few acquired as an adult.

I collect mounted insects/skeletons/taxidermied rodents in frames. A friend of ours in an artist in the maccab and I got hooked at the beauty of the oddities.

I also have a growing pinup collection from another artist I've been a fan of for a while now.

I “collect” high end board shorts from manufacturers like Quiksilver, Patagonia, Hurley, Billabong, O’Neil, Ripcurl, to name a few. They frequently show up at Goodwill for about $5. I’m in shape and genetically lucky enough to share a waistline size with the yutes, so I see size 32 frequently in like new shape. I have around 20 or so at the moment Eek
