California Fleein' is a parody of The Momma's and the Papa's, not the Beach Boys. You think the Bee could get that right.

Good parody though.

I love the fact that there are some kids appreciating our classic rock music, instead of crap rap hip hop and other such assorted garbage of today.

Wow. Looks there IS hope for real musical talent to come back after all. That was great.

Tell me I'm not dreaming (hehehe) ...

When I listen to that youtube original version, The Mamas & the Papas, I hear a much more distinct stereo separation of sounds from the left and right speakers.

With the School of Rock version, all the voices and instruments seem to be blended and almost centered, no real stereo effect to my ears.

Do you get the same impression?

Stereo recording only came out in in the late 50's. Since it was the new cool thing, it was used more heavily in the 60's and 70's recordings.

Great song and I remember how hot I thought Michelle Phillips was.

The original has that ominous yet hopeful tone to it. Of course, it's well executed especially the harmony which goes a long way in my world.

Keep dunking on em BB. The other side's absurdity cannot stand up to mockery and making fun of them.

And mine. Everything about it. From the guitar intro, to the melody, to the evocative lyrics,to the vocals and the harmonies, to the haunting flute solo. I love every note of this song, and have since it first came out.

I've had the tune as an ear worm from time to time and I think I'm gonna get it again because of the Babylon Bee.

As such things go, it's not bad at all. Once, I had Barry Manilow's Copacabana stuck in my head for close to two months. It's enough to make a person suicidal.

Her name was Lo-la!! She was a show-girl!!

Screw it. This doesn't scare me anymore, for I have forded the River Styx and glimpsed the fiery gates of Hell...

Do your worst, Barry! Spawn of Satan! The Mommas and the Poppas shall protect me.

Mine, too. Something about that Sunset Sound just stops me in my tracks every time it plays.
