In the category of truth is stranger than fiction... this could almost be a Farside cartoon.

I can almost hear the cow udder a "Cow-ah-bunga" as it hangs 4 on the way down. Big Grin

Cow Escapes Slaughterhouse, Winds Up on Waterpark Slide

November 16, 2021

By Tim Binnall

A cow in Brazil has become a viral sensation and saw its life spared after it escaped from a slaughterhouse and somehow wound up on a waterpark slide. The animal's wild adventure reportedly occurred earlier this month in the community of Nova Granada. Set to be processed for its meat, the brazen bovine managed to flee the building wherein its final days were to be spent and ventured over to a neighboring waterpark known as Indaia Club de Campo, where it was discovered 'riding' down a rather sizeable slide.

The cow's descent was not quite as smooth as that of its human counterparts as workers who spotted the creature shut off the water on the attraction in order to protect the animal from slipping. As such, it was left to clumsily climb down the huge blue structure to a small pool at the bottom. Despite the bovine's less-than-thrilling 'ride,' the great escape led to it becoming something of a star on social media when the unfathomable footage of a cow on a waterslide went viral.

In response to his cow's newfound celebrity status, its owner declared that the creature would not be slaughtered and, instead, he has decided to turn the animal into an attraction. "The people want to know where he is," marveled Carlos Miguel Serante, "Everyone wants to know. We want to take him to the club." While it remains to be seen whether or not the cow turns up on a dance floor in the future, at the very least the creature now has a name as its owner has dubbed it 'Tobogã' which is the Portuguese word for 'slide.'

That's pretty funny and interesting. I wonder how it got to that point, being at the pool/slide.

I call Bull.

That's a pretty smart cow (relatively speaking) for being able to get to that high point.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Going back to my previous Farside reference; I envision a cartoon scene in which the cow is standing against a wall, a 'firing squad' wearing meat-cutter aprons stands at-the-ready with butcher's meat saws in hand, the cow is handed a blindfold and a last cigarette, and then the cow is asked "are there any last requests?"... and it is at this point the cow spies the nearby water park slide, gets a sly smile on its face, and says, "why yes, yes there is".

Agreed. But if things don't work out, I call dibs on a ribeye. Smile

Forget the pardon...and Well done? Absolutely not, a crime against humanity...should be medium rare, or at the very least medium. Wink

It's clear that cow would never get a fair trial around here.

Such an occurrence would be rare. The poor beast would likely be grilled unmercifully.
