V-Tailmojojojo -- This One Is For You
December 27, 2023, 10:38 AM
mojojojoAh yes, the Harrier! A great bird of prey from which my beloved AV-8 derives it's name.
The description of the bird fits the airplane in some ways: "They are plain-looking, long-legged (range), have small beaks and...of slender build that cruise low...."
[The physical description is better suited to original ARBS "B" version than the night attack, B+ or A/C models as the night attack and, more so, the B+ with the incorporation of the APG65 radar certainly removed the "small beak." And the "legs" of the A/C were a bit lacking]
Thanks V-Tail!

V-TailThis one was photographed over Bear Lake, just a few miles from where I met you and Mrs. jojo.
Pete (the photographer) lives in the area and publishes great photos of local wildlife, daily, on the local NextDoor feed. Probably the main reason that I look at NextDoor.

I have never met the guy, but I follow him on the local NextDoor feed. His location shows that he lives couple miles west of me. Maybe I should start a thread here, "Nature Photos By Peter" and post some of his work.

pedropcolaYea, but is the bird loud? ‘Cause that is a pretty defining characteristic too! Lol
