Thanks for posting this. As a city and suburb dweller most of my life I've never seen or dealt with this sort of thing. The closest was talking to my friend Steve whose dad owned and operated a produce company that grew melons and other tasty foods on the west side of Broward County (So Fla) and into the 'Glades.

This is the kind of stuff that helps make America great and the more people know the better.

Farming is consistently in the top ten most dangerous occupations. Worth remembering the men and women who make these sacrifices so that we can have food on the table.

Give them a little extra room and patience as they go about their business. Without them we would starve.

Geez, it seems like they are taking forever this year.

Still going strong around here,
Got behind two on the main roads the other day.

And they are still hauling in to the elevators till 10 p.m.

I love this time of year in northern Indiana. Crisp air, lot of fall color, and farmers are cutting fields all over the place. Our family takes walk just about every night that I'm off out on the county roads near our house. The kids have fun watching the corn grow throughout the summer...they like standing next to it to see if it's taller than them...by August it typically dwarfs them, lol.

Then in the fall, it's fun watching the combines, tractors, an grain trucks cut it all down and haul it off...leaving the fields wide open again until spring. Here's a shot from our walk tonight...sunset over a cut bean field. We also saw quite a few deer tonight, since the colder weather and all the harvest activity has them moving around quite a bit.

Yep. Not only a little more dangerous for drivers it is dangerous for the farmers too.

I can recall my dad having to take the ditch twice because of some dipshit in a car. The first time was in a tractor w/ no cab pulling some wagons. How he didn’t squished on that one is beyond me.
