Fun tangent: I had to walk to a friend's house to see any MTV, as our parents made sure it didn't air in our house.

I used to be a big fan of his back in the 90s. I saw him in concert a few times, and he always put on a great show.

I literally "googled" him a little over a week ago to see if he was still alive. (sigh)
