Motorcycle with hubless wheels
“A former Formula One driver has designed an ultra-sleek new motorbike, known as the TMC Dumont, powered by a vintage 300-horsepower Rolls-Royce Continental V6 aircraft engine.

The futuristic ride has 36-inch hubless wheels – 'the largest wheels ever made for a motorcycle' according to the Brazilian creator Tarso Marques.

The wheels are fixed to the base of the rim giving the motorcycle the appearance that it is 'floating' on the road.

Creator Tarso Marques said he has been dreaming about the design for 15 years, which he describes as the 'most expressive event of customisation in the world'…”

He needs a backrest pronto. His ass is about 4" max away from the rear rubber. One flick of the wrist away from being hamburger.

Neat ride otherwise, although I wonder about the turning radius.

It's all fun and games until he catches a rock or chunk of blown tire in that exposed engine.

Watch out for speed bumps.

The article says it’s a V6, but it looks like a flat 6 to me, and RR made flat 6 engines.

No turn signals needed! Not required when the vehicle can't possibly turn.

It's been done with motorcycles in the past but not with the extreme wheel size.

With no Fenders it should be fun in the rain, not to mention as low as it is it would not work out well with speed bumps, railroad crossings or entering most driveways.

Well, the large wheel diameter means that they will be rotating more slowly at speed than smaller wheels would be, and that will reduce the gyroscopic forces contributing to stability. The CG is not extremely high (below the center of the wheels) and it appears that there is enough clearance for reasonable cornering (about what a BMW has).
