Ok, I hear this being spewed a lot. Folks who say this, do they really mean it? It's always some horrible thing happening to someone, be it an accident or an illness, then someone invariably comes along with "I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy." That's just plain dumb. What are they trying to prove? That they are above everyone else in the discussion? I don't know about you, but here is the list of some of my worst enemies. And, I do wish the worst on each and every single one of them. Kim Jong Un Bin Laden ISIS All terrorists HRC BHO The Schumer, the Pelosi, you get the idea... Feel free to add to the list. Make no mistake, the ones who are trying to destroy the country from within are just as bad as the terrorists. I dare say, they are worse! Why? Because they can hide under the Constitution, while at the same time trying to destroy it and the country it was built on. Oh, yeah, and they'll start spewing the "Jesus wouldn't do that" nonsense. Don't forget, even God/Jesus will destroy evil and all his followers. Q

I wouldn't consider any of those my worst enemy. Our worst enemy is something else. My worst enemy is someone you've never heard of. _____________________________________________________ Sliced bread, the greatest thing since the 1911.

Just like any other form of hyperbole the person stating it is attempting to elevate the gravity of the malady. I don't think it is any attempt to prove oneself morally superior as though they have their own personal Geneva Convention of restricted acts to wish upon their list of hated people. ______________________________ “I'd like to know why well-educated idiots keep apologizing for lazy and complaining people who think the world owes them a living.” ― John Wayne

Canadians??? Death is called an enemy in the Bible at 1Cor 15:26. Luke chapter 10 refers to Satan as an enemy that is as good as already fallen. James 4:4 says that we can become an enemy of God. That's a lot of evil power to deal with. Also, when people say 'I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy', they might be referring to such scriptures as Proverbs 24:17, Matthew 5: 43-48, 2 Thessalonians 3:15. These scriptures indicate the possibility of hating what is bad, but not necessarily who is bad. And Proverbs 8:13 also indicates we must hate what God hates. I would like to be sincere when I say such phrases, but know this is not always the case, and elevating oneself in a group is always a danger for imperfect man. It is one of our greatest hypocrisies. I think "my worst enemy" refers to someone you personally know who has offended you. I haven't seen much that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy however. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Offended you to the point of being your worst enemy. It's a saying, an idiom. "I wouldn't wish (something) on my worst enemy The thing being discussed is so bad that no one deserves to be subjected to it, not even a person I hate. I wouldn't wish cancer on my worst enemy. No one should have to go through that. That's the worst class I've ever taken. I wouldn't wish that professor on my worst enemy. Buffering videos are truly the worst. I wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy." It is more of a statement regarding the situation and not about what you would or wouldn't do to your enemies. What you want to happen to those people on your list, I don't think anyone will say, "He did what to who? I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy!" For someone to be my worst enemy, I would have to know them on some personal level and they would have to know me likewise. Otherwise, it's only business and each other is only potentially collateral damage. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct.
