It’s definitely a PITA to do the dance every year, that’s my only gripe with them.

I just ripped my Dad's CD's to a 64gb flash drive and plugged it into the auxiliary port in his radio, which he just leaves plugged in. He still pays for the Sirius though and usually keeps it on Willy's Roadhouse if not listening to has ripped music.

I quit long ago. My last car came with a 3 month trial. I figured it would be good for long trips. I found myself listening to the same 3 radio stations and didn’t bother signing up.
I’m on my ex wife’s spotify family plan and I have car play so it basically does what I need.
I’m never in the car long enough for talk radio.

You want to charge me $X/month or year? Fine. I expect that to be the price untill the service is terminated or you announce a fee increase.

None of the services to which we subscribe play the games Sirius does.

I see what you are saying but maybe there is another side to the coin. Let's compare them to Amazon Prime. It's a service that you want and they charge XXX number of dollars to belong. No negotiating with them, you pay it or you don't. At least with Sirius, you can negotiate with them to get the service and maybe save a few bucks each year if you are successful. No one is making you play the game, but at least it's there.

Discovered the ease of renewal by chat this year too. I dreaded the “dance” and the hold times to renew by threatening to cancel. Only had to decline the “very special offer” once on the chat feature before they renewed it at my current rate.

I had no issues back in March when I renewed. I used the chat feature and said I wanted the same price as last year. At the same time I cancelled the wives subscription as her car was a lease. After taxes and fees it was about $75

When my subscription is up I call them to cancel and after a bit I end up paying $65 a year for my truck. Looks like I could be doing better though.

I got a free 3 month subscription when I bought my new car 4 months ago. Just renewed at $4.99/mo which in actually goes up to $6.06/month with taxes and some other fees.

I'm mostly in it for channel 5, 6 and 7 and occasionally one of the Country channels.

I listen to talk radio mostly when I am driving, so I can't live without Stern, which is my main reason for keeping Sirius. Just found the red white and booze channel, 350, its pretty damn good. Country, old country, rock country and classic rock.
I have a lifetime on 1 vehicle and did the dance for the second so I'm happy. 3rd vehicle was inherited and still has a sub 1 year later!

I only authorize 1time use of credit card and they are supposed to send an invoice 30 days before end of service. They don't 2 years ago they kept billing CC, I called and got the promo rate for 12 months.
This year no invoice when I called no give on rate, $21.95 per month so I cancelled women kept asking why. I told her I did not trust XM to bill me 30 days out so I could renew, Billed me $7.93 for limited time before I cancelled.
Paid the bill, service still working no bill no CC charges. Waiting for large bill, still have email confirmation of cancellation.

I tried Sirius, but got sick of the "djs" adding nothing of value to me. I also have quite a few areas of interruption due to the angle of the satellites to me.

I sended up with Pandora Premium, no commercials, no editing of the songs, I can request songs on demand, and NO DJs! Yes, it's dependent on call phone data, but it has an "offline" mode for times that the signal drops out.

I also have the I♡radio app for when I want a talk show (fox or sports for example).

I shall respect you until you open your mouth, from that point on, you must earn it yourself.

I cannot stand the DJs and talking over songs. It pisses me off, and the blocking the comedy channel, this station is temporarily off the air due to a live sporting event....

Fuck you, I pay a subscription to hear the channels I pay for. There are plenty of sports channels to broadcast your shit on, don't turn off one of my favorite channels.

Too many ways to stream now with no bullahit DJ talking over songs. Fuck Sirius

I like it, too. I love the 40s channel. I listen to a lot of college football and basketball on the SEC and ACC channels. Right now I'm listening to the Euros on the soccer channel on my PC. But I do have to go through the cancel/renew song and dance once a year. Roll Eyes

I’d be willing to pay $5/mo for the occasional times I’d listen to SiriusXM.

I just checked the SiriusXM site and they are promoting $4.99/mo for 12 months. But the fine print says “plus fees and taxes”.

I contacted Sirius via their chat bot to find out what these fees and taxes would add up to. Curiously (or maybe not), they said they couldn’t tell me without more information from me.

I played along for a little. But, when they said I needed to go to my car, power on SiriusXM, and let them know my radio ID, I balked and asked what that had to do with telling me what their fees and taxes came to.

The response “we need it” didn’t answer my question, so I said “forget it” and disconnected.

There is a music royalty fee along with some other stuff. If I can remember it added an extra $16 when I renewed for the year.

Thanks. That wasn’t difficult. So, I don’t know why the Sirius rep couldn’t give me a straight answer.

I used and enjoyed Sirius for five or so years when they first offered the service.

Then other cheaper and even free options became available. I haven't used Sirius for quite a while.

I don't care to listen much to anything most of my driving time. If 100 free AM stations & 500 FM stations don't satisfy my occasional auditory itch, what will?

I had a major unhappiness with their lying business office a couple decades ago. They continue to send me opportunities to sign up nearly monthly.

My most recent new vehicle came with 6 month trial. There was nothing I cared to continue paying subscription to receive.
