We’ll have having been at my company of a Private aviation firm for well over 1.5 years and taking several trips domestic and international. I’ve decided last week to head back to Sydney Australia. I applied for and interviewed at a different position early last month within the company and learning also last week that someone else was chosen over me for said position I put my plan in motion.
I put in for vacation and upon learning of the opening fiqured well if I get the job I’ll cancel the vacation time, and if I don’t get it then I’m set. That was in April. That same month a coworker and I started hanging out. Now I know better that to take that somewhere but sure as shit I tried. She told me well I’m retired from dating, hmmm ok. 36 and retired ok whatever we work damn near side by side and we’ve become fast friends. Several lunches and a few dinners and some running around on our days off the I get a cluster bomb droppped on me. Oh my old BF who has stayed in touch is moving to here and we are goin to start seeing each other again and well I just don’t feel comfortable around you any longer and boom I’m outta there like yesterdays trash.
Well that played into my choice also. So last Friday I burned 60k miles from AmEx and off to Australia I go in biz class. When? June 9th. For a week. Yeah quick planning trips are my idea of fun. But hey at least it’s 1st class.
This is the 2nd time I’ve been there, oddly same kinda tripped happened after my dad died 13 years ago…….
I’ll post pics laster in the month. This message has been edited. Last edited by: ThankGod4Sig,

Have a great time! Enjoy the change of scenery to take your mind off of things here. Spontaneous plans are often the best!

Dang. My lady friend from the Phil's and I are caput after over a year together. I guess we were just friends. Last hit I could take was her saying we weren't going to a certain place to eat together again because people there who know us think we are a couple. That hit me hard. It still bothers me. Times I wish I could take a trip. Not a lot if fun alone, for me.

Sydney is amazing. I was truly blown away by how much I loved the time I spent in Sydney and Melbourne.

Sounds like when my first wife left, I went to Hawaii for a week by myself and had a blast.
I highly recommend Mr. Wong if you like old style Cantonese food. Mr Wong

That looks like all kinds of fun! I've never been to Australia, but it's definitely on the bucket list. Glad you got to get out and get a change of scenery for a bit. We all need that from time to time.

Great pics and a great trip. It is the last continent that I have to visit and hopefully soon I’ll go there!

Very nice. Bucket list here too, but Melbourne, and specifically Phillip Island for the MotoGP round. Have to to see the track. It’s right on the coast.
