I apologize if this topic is off-limits... it simply boggles my mind that a governmental unit would permit ANTIFA takeover of 6 blocks in downtown Seattle.

You get the government you vote for. The local leadership tolerate and in some cases promote it.

We left that toilet in 2004 when we retired and we've never missed it.

They let the homeless eat all the food and now they are all starving. Try as I might, I just cannot gen up any sympathy for them.

A couple pickup trucks of good ole boys and this would be fixed.

People are searched if they try to enter, businesses are shaken down and extorted for money for the offer of "protection," no free speech, there is a tribalist, religious type atmosphere, "drumhead" type justice, a warlord figure is literally in charge of the zone...

It's the freaking Taliban.

They will likely destroy the area soon enough. Is it too soon to call in an airstrike and finish it quickly?

Seattle has a problem, no one else can help, if they can find them, maybe they can hire...the A-Team.

I was thinking the same thing when I heard about this and that they were claiming that they are no longer a part of the United States.

Really? Fine. Treat them as a foreign country. Have troops sent in to keep them inside their new "country" and don't allow anyone out without a passport and then they go through vetting to enter the US. Also cut off the power, water, and everything else that is provided to that area by the US. Nothing goes in and nothing comes out. Let's see how long their new "county" survives.
