flashguyChocolate meringue is #1; pumpkin #2. #3 would be either apple or cherry if not too sweet.
It is very hard to find a good chocolate meringue pie commercially. I prefer that the meringue not be excessively thick (1/2" is good).

I make one using a homemade GF piecrust,
deep dish pan,
extra pecans,
extra chocolate
extra bourbon

That reminds me… I once asked my mother why she never made an orange meringue pie. Didn't get a satisfactory answer. It's never seen any mention of orange meringue, but I think it would be tasty.
