Old GE Profile combo oven and microwave was done. It still worked but the inside microwave panels were delaminating and the main oven cleaning cycle was not working properly.

When I pulled it out the sticker on back of old unit was dated 2006 when I put it in replacing the original contractor white unit.. 14 years is pretty good but the quality of the GE microwave interior is shoddy if best.

Bought a LG from Costco, stainless steel microwave, convection and steam cooking also hooks to the iPhone via wifi.

They had a sale over Memorial day and we got a great deal which came with removal, disposal and install no extra charge

Gotta to hook up the app to see what it does...

Too bad there isn't one within 100 miles of me.

Costco themselves do all this? Or a sub-contractor?

Sub, all the big stores have local companies they contract with for delivery and installs so it's an independent local business, which IMHO is a great thing. Costco putting bucks back into the local economy.

The guy they use also does Home Depots installs, and used to do best buy, he said BB cancelled all local contracts when COVID closed them down and then rebid for new contractors.

Said he did 49 new installs for Costco Last week. Pretty good business.

Left the work area spotless, hauled off all the trash from the packing, and the old unit as well.

Nice unit!

Did the Costco delivery folks connect a water line for the steam function?

Just FYI...some professional chefs I work with at a cooking school don't recommend using the self-cleaning function. Temperatures get up to 900F using that function and the heat, even with the insulation, is not good for the oven's electronics. And you have a microwave oven sitting on top of your oven. Just my $0.02 worth.

No water line, there is a water container on the unit that you fill with distilled water, haven't read the instructions yet, basically it's installed and tested and pre run the over 30 min for a break in period,

Thank for the update on the self clean, I'll have to look into it.

Nice thing too about Costco, this has a 2 year warranty that is increased to 4 years when you use the Costco visa at no extra fee.

My cousin does appliance repairs and says the same thing about using the self clean function, bad for the electronics.

We bought a GE range to replace our 15 year old one during the memorial day sale at Costco. Was supposed to be delivered on 6/18. Got two delivery confirmation calls on the 17th, and it never showed up on delivery day. Called Costco, the shipping company, and GE. Found out the the units are on back order and none are available. Got really pissed at Costco's customer service that basically said "oh, well I guess there was a glitch" this glitch cost me half a day of vacation to sit around and wait. Still pissed about it. I was really hoping their customer service was better.

That is odd for Costco to botch CS..

I would get ahold of them, see if they have one in stock from another brand and ask for a substitution. Costco typically doesn't like to have dissatisfied customers and goes the extra mile.

Fine looking appliances. I may have to check them out here shortly. Like you, I currently have the GE Profile microwave and convection oven. The microwave needs a replacement already as it has failed. Those LG's look great!

I had a phone call with customer service and my wife went to the store to talk to a manager. Both times we were very nicely told that they don't do substitutions. the two options we were given were to cancel the order or wait for it to become available.
