One Ibizan Hound we had (now gone) was a stealth expert. She would very quietly approach your face while you were still asleep, an put her nose about an inch away from you, then not make a sound. Ears back, in submissive anticipation. The second you opened your eyes, her ears popped up and a happy face, wagging tail, the whole bit. No telling how long she was there waiting for you to wake up, she was so quiet and still. She did this to some houseguests one morning. My SIL went into a 3ft hover.
