Shelve life of canned beer?

0-0Shelve life of canned beer?
Found a bunch of beer cans at my sister's place. Been there at least since last year.
Not a beer drinker so I wonder how long can they be stored before going to waste.

if stored in a cool dry place you are getting near the end of life for a Budweiser,

WoodmanI've rotated 12-packs out of my fridge after 6 and 12 months. Nary a word of complaint from the people getting them.
A discerning friend was given a case of 10 year old beer once. While he is a chain-smoking alcoholic, he did comment that it tasted fine.
To anyone drinking a case or two a week, it'll probably taste fine. Beer that freezes can be an issue, though.

smschulzCould be worse, cans are the best storage container. Glass bottles is where the beer can get ruined fast especially if sunlight hits it.
If at relatively cool consistent temp then the shelf life is extended a bit.

AnushAs a teenager we buried, hid behind a tree, & left on an island in the middle of the lake, canned beer that could not be consumed that night. Never had a problem drinking it the next summer!

71 TRUCKI still have an unopened can of beer from a six pack a friend brought back from Germany in 1985.

NavyGuyOld beer won't go bad as in make you sick, but Bud and the like will take on a slightly off taste after 8-10 months. This is exasperated by being stored in a hot place (garage) and/or going from cold to hot to cold. As already mentioned many ales benefit from bottle ageing. I've kept dark Belgian ales for a couple of years. Store in cool place (Upright but get the cork wet every month or so). It usually takes the "bite" out of them.
I think the beers you found should be okay. Serve them as cold as you can in a frozen mug.

LS1 GTOMine has a shelf life between one to seven days.

SBrooksI watched a guy open some Worlds fair beer (on youtube) decades after it was sold (Knoxville TN fair) and it didn't make anyone sick. Just had an off flavor.

jhe888If it was kept cool, it is probably still drinkable. By cool, under 75 - but the cooler the better. It won't be spoiled, but if it got hot, the flavor may be off.
And as someone said, some beers tolerate storage better than others.
