Windows 10 Users: Update ASAP!
Everyone out there using Windows 10 needs to update their PC's ASAP!

Windows 10 Has a Security Flaw So Severe the NSA Disclosed It --- In a shift toward transparency, the National Security Agency announced a bug that could have left over 900 million PCs vulnerable to attack.

Win 10 Pro x64 version 1909 tells me there is no update available at this time.

Update: Looks like I already have it in the cumulative patch, as shown below.

Thanks for the info.

I ran CNTL-I Update & Security and got the following which I'm installing:

The article the OP links has an embedded link to this at Microsoft which confirms the security update above addresses the issue.

Here is a Yahoo version of the article:

Microsoft and NSA say a security bug affects millions of Windows 10 computers

It may not have gotten pushed out yet by MS to home users.

Thank goodness everyone has migrated to the safety of Windows 10! Roll Eyes

ETA - Not to be a conspiracy theorist, but anyone else find it curious that on the exact same day that Microsoft ends support for Windows 7, the NSA finds an uber serious vulnerability in Window 10! In fact, it was SO Serious that, 'in a shift toward transparency', the NSA took 'UN-precedented action', quickly turning to Microsoft to ensure they could mitigate the issue, resulting in an immediate patch to all 900 million affected PC's.

Everyone Update ASAP! Anybody feel safer now?

Perfect timing. I just installed security patch 2020-01. It's a done deal.

This is exactly the point though. Nobody is looking for security flaws or patching them on Windows 7 anymore.

If this flaw was on Windows 7 right now (and there's nothing saying that it isn't), nobody at Microsoft would care or know.

I don't get the animosity toward Win 10. It's super stable and Microsoft does a very good job with the updates and security patches. Yeah, there is a learning curve coming off of Win 7 but it's easy enough to do with a little patience. I've had it for 2 years and love it.

With something like a systems crypto being broken, this probably would have been fixed in 7 too. Maybe not, but it's not like everyone didn't know this day was coming.

If this is SO serious, I doubt the NSA or whomever would let it slide if it alsp affected W7.

I bet there are shitloads of computers worldwide running W7 in critical and sensitive places in no hurry to go W10.

Just my uneducated guess.

I can only speak to financial systems (pretty darn critical) and all that I am aware of have upgraded to 10 a looooooong time ago. The transition was painful FYI. Any system admin that lets mission critical systems run on W7 is a total idiot.
