Yesterday, there was a small plane that crashed onto the freeway right after takeoff, killing all 4 on board. My wife just found out this morning her friend and former college roommate was one of the passengers. Her friend, whose husband was also killed in the crash, leaves behind 4 kids. I've never seen my wife so sad and shaken up.

Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice - pull down your pants and slide on the ice.

That was a terrible crash, amazing no cars were involved! A friends wife had just passed when she looked and saw the smoke in her mirror, that close!

My condolences to your wife and the families.

Very sorry to read of this. Whoever the pilot was, many of those who witnessed this crash felt the pilot managed to keep the plane from hitting the office buildings nearby.

Those poor kids.

Read about this yesterday. Just awful. I'm sorry to hear how personally affected your wife is.

I'm assuming some type of mechanical issue, and the pilot was attempting to land on I-15...?

A number of pilots who left comments on KSL mentioned the plane was in the process of a turn when they went straight down. One local pilot was in the air nearby and heard the Bonanza pilot's conversation with the tower before they crashed.

Saw this one also, very tragic no doubt. Sorry for those involved.

It happened soon after taking off, critical time no doubt. I haven't seen any likely cause mentioned yet, just a few early possibilities.

It sounds like an engine problem, followed by a loss of flying speed resulting in a stall spin too close to the ground.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown
