They do bear rescue. She likely raised it from a cub. The bear probably thinks she's it's mother.

Heck, I know that bears and dogs are not related, and some smartasss will tell me that the bear is closer to the ostrich or lobster than it is to a dog, but dang me it I don't see that there bear getting a hind leg twitch when he's being brushed, just like a dog....
