Prayers to your dad and your family nhtamember in these difficult times of transition.

I know that your family has already made a decision pertaining to the care of your dad, but I would like to mention Palliative Care in case it may be helpful for other members of our SIGforum family if it may help them and their loved ones at some point in time.

Here is one of many articles that can be found -

What are the Differences and Commonalities Between Hospice and Palliative Care?

My wonderful and loving Uncle was afflicted with Parkinson's disease and after three years of enduring the insidious condition and declining health he was admitted to a Palliative Care facility which was a Godsend for him and his immediate family.

God bless.

I am keeping you and your family in my prayers. Tomorrow, April 1, will mark 5 years since my mother passed from a stroke. My dad passed in January two weeks shy of his 98th birthday.

Greg, prayers for you and your family.

I fear we're close to a similar situation with my 98+ yo mother. She was just released from the hospital this week into rehab.

Any decisions you can make now are usually going to be better than ones made when the finality of death occurs. You just can't think as straight. There are people waiting to take advantage of you in that emotional state.

It took me months to get my head back in order.

Prayers to you and your family.
We went through this with both my dad and my MIL in December-January. Dad in the hospital, MIL in hospice after a long stint at home (in home care with hospice help at the end).
My only advice is do what it best for your family. It's and exhausting and stressful course to navigate. Dad's condition dictated that he stay in the hospital until the end. My point being that care decisions could possibly dictate some of your decisions. MIL was rotated to Hospice and they were a gift from God.
They ended up passing on the same day on January 7th.
