Conway New Hampshire Eatery
I'll be in Conway NH on Thursday evening and have planned dinner with my daughter and her fiancée who will be coming up from Nashua area.

Does anyone have a good recommendation for a place where we can eat, have a few beers or glasses of wine, and talk for a bit? He is allergic to certain seafood, so that's out, but we eat pretty much everything else.

Not looking to spend a fortune, and are more interested in good, unhurried, and casual.

Stonehurst Manor in N. Conway is one of my favorites for dinner. (great pizza too)

For a few beers and some good lunch-time bar food - try Moat Mountain Smokehouse and Brewery. (ironically - across the street from Stonehurst Manor)

Yankee Smokehouse in Ossipee. Real good barbecue.

Two recommendations:

Moat Mountain Smokehouse and Brewery --> https://www.moatmountain.com/smokehouse

I REALLY like this place, and eat there every time I'm up there (in the Mt. Washington Valley - N. Conway, Glen, Jackson, etc), usually after skiing, hiking, MTB, or snow-shoeing. It's VERY Casual, w/ Good Food, and Great Beer! It's located on Route 16 headed north on the way out of town. If you want good, unhurried and casual, IMO the Moat Mountain Smokehouse & Brewery is your place! It's always super busy, and if there are large groups, can be a bit noisy due to the acoustics, but it's never bothered me and I'm kinda particular in this regard. Not sure about the wine list, but that's not why I go there... Wink

Wild Rose Restaurant at Stonehurst Manor --> https://www.stonehurstmanor.com/

This is definitely more intimate and upscale. It been a few years since I've been there but the food and service was always excellent. The decor in the restaurant/dining room always seemed a bit odd to me (upholstered wicker chairs), but it didn't take away from the dining experience. As I recall, they had a VERY Solid wine list, and the last time I dined there I had a glorious Beef Wellington w/ an OUTSTANDING Cabernet Sauvignon! If you're looking to open a bottle of wine, and do some catching up while enjoying a more sophisticated meal, the Wild Rose at Stonehurst Manor may be the ticket.

FYI - N. Conway is VERY 'touristy' and there are numerous restaurants, but I've always driven by most of them. I usually drive the 'bypass' North-South Road instead of driving straight through town due to the traffic. That said, you should visit Zeb's General Store while you're there....It's a must see if you're visiting N.Conway in my opinion! I usually park by the train station and do a little walking when I'm 'in town' visiting the shops.

Enjoy your trip to the Granite State! Cool

Another vote for Moat Mountain. Muddy Moose looked good but was so loud with kids we left after a beer and ate elsewhere.

These go to eleven.

Another vote for Moat. Casual, friendly, good beer selection. Love the nachos.

Delaney's hole in the wall in North Conway or the Red Parka Pub in Glen. Red Parka has a quieter restaurant section if you're looking for that and a full bar downstairs. Delaney's is your typical neighborhood restaurant. Both have great food and good atmosphere.

I've been going to both since I was a kid as my family used to have a condo in Glen just behind Storyland.

If you are in the area for a few days drive over to Lincoln on the Kancamagus highway (NH 112) and try The Common Man.

And for breakfast head up to Sugar Hill.
