PRC doesn’t do much with dairy. It’s highly unlikely any would be coming from anywhere other than the U.S. I doubt that any of these companies make their own whey isolate. (It tends to be made at very large dairy plants) If you can handle the lactose, the various condensates are much cheaper. If yall think you could use a pallet (~2500#) of whey isolate, I can find a source. I know whey condensate is something our usual milk suppliers produce - it’s, more or less, a by product of cheese production and they’re always trying to find a customer for it, other than animal feed makers. | |||

question: can ingesting protein powder cause high BUN levels? I think it can but not sure if it would be typical or rare. If it is a possible result, what should one do in order to supplement protein but reduce BUN levels? Reduce protein power intake? Reduce frequency of intake? Both? I don't think you can over-consume natural protein from meat and eggs. That might be all your body needs, in fact. There is a lot of evidence now that the USDA created health recommendations decades ago based on subsidies and corruption/bribery from processed-food companies. We were told animal fat was bad, eggs raise cholesterol, butter clogs your arteries. It turns out that all of it is BS. Red meat is rich in vitamins and nutrients, so are eggs. Personally, the more I eat, the better I feel, and my HDL is almost equal to my LDL levels. My cardiologist just asked me if I was a vegetarian, I laughed. Anyway, YMMV but I'm convinced this is the way to go. I really wish pasta and sweets weren't so damn tasty! | |||

I spent the last few years just buying the low sugar stuff at Costco. It was relatively inexpensive and tasted great. However I am starting to get more and more suspicious of the sweeteners and artificial flavors so I looked around for something a little cleaner. I found a local company right in my city that use whey isolate from local grass fed cows, and then adds only unsweetened cocoa powder or natural vanilla flavoring. It's priced a little higher (20%) but tastes very good. I sweeten with honey, fruit or dates. It's not likely available in the US (choklat.com) but I am sure there are similar US makers.
