A new Bissell vacuum cleaner was mistakenly delivered to my home today. It's in the sealed factory box but without a shipping label or any vendor identification. My only clue is this bar code sticker with a <> logo in the upper left corner. Does anyone recognize this logo? I'm trying to determine where it came from in an attempt to determine where it belongs. I've checked with some neighbors but so far no luck. Thanks for looking.

I've never seen <> as a logo before. However I can tell you, given my experience in intralogistics, often shapes are placed on labels to indicate specific elements like the vendor of origin, region, specific distribution center, etc. They are read by a vision system that logs that data for their use.

Point being, it might not be a logo of a company, but something all together different.

The shipping label should give point of origin. Mapquest/Google Map that and you'll likely find the company that shipped it.

There's no shipping label. Also, the box is in excellent condition as though I had brought it home myself from a local store.

This is the 4th time in two weeks that this has happened.

No packing slip, no return address, no nothing.
Did yours have your address on it ?
But you didn't order it.

It could also be from a Walmart order that was fulfilled through Sam's Club

Samsclub has started delivering items in their manufacturer’s boxes with no external box. If you have a nearby store, they sometimes use local drivers who use their personal vehicles, so an item appearing on someone’s porch with no shipping reference is not atypical. Makes it tough to figure out where it was supposed to be delivered!

Similar to Porch Pirates, but instead of stealing packages from your porch, they leave packages.

Has anybody seen the Bissell that I ordered? They said it was delivered, but I didn't receive it.

I notified my local Sam's Club yesterday. The representative confirmed that the blue <> barcode label was in fact theirs and is used for delivery and tracking purposes. At the representative's request, I supplied the barcode number and my contact information. She thanked me and indicated someone would be in contact. So far, I have yet to hear from anyone. I'm beginning to suspect it is more cost effective for Sam's Club to deliver a replacement to the correct address rather than retrieving this one for redelivery.

Why go thru the effort? Are they paying you to find out how they screwed up? Either keep the item or throw it away. Anything else isn't worth your time.

Well, because it's the right thing to do,

If they don't respond and pick it up, then do whatever you want with it, drop it at the local Sams Club, keep it, sell it on Ebay, give it to someone that needs it but can't afford it...

The right think to do is they should deliver to the right address. But if you're going to go thru the effort of finding out who they are and letting them know they screwed up, bill them for your time. They should pay you because it's the right thing to do.

Good on you for making the effort! Someone was looking for this to be delivered to them and your actions will no doubt straighten things out so that they do indeed get what they paid for.

As for what Sam's decides to do with the erroneous delivery to you....

True, they messed up the delivery, but no company or person is mistake free, even with the tech we have that should reduce errors.. Shidt happens.

Still, he's done the right thing, contacted them, balls in their court, nothing else he needs to do, maybe they'll reward HJS with a free membership!

I have a solution to this problem that has worked for me. Go to the nearest Post office and put it in the Parcel Post box. Problem solved and it does not come back. Several postal workers told me that postal workers figure out where it goes.
