Well I made it! Arrived at hospital Monday morning, 09-09-24. Baseline blood work and ECG and then waiting. What they DONT tell you is you have to be in Hospital for six (6) drug Tikosyn (Dofetilide) administrations which is 72 hours. So my three day stay was 4-days since the first dose was at 6pm Monday night. The FDA requires the hospital stay to be heart rhythm monitored for anyone using this drug.

Then was 6am and 6pm for drug doses with an ECG 2-hours after each dose to check heart rhythm/QT intervals as drug can cause irregular rhythms that could lead to death. (One of my Nurses said he experienced a patient coding and they had to do CPR after his 2nd dose) Blood draws at around 2am to 3am to check levels. Only drawback I am having is headaches which is a side affect.

Last dose was yesterday, 09-12-24 Thursday, morning. Hope was that during the 6-dose period the drug would convert me to NSR from Aflutter..but it did not. So, Cardioversion and left Hospital in NSR.

Super nice Hospital staff all around, only issue was boredom sitting around for 4-days..and cardiac Hospital food.

Doctor said this drug requires a check-up every 6-months. This drug has been around for 25 years and Doctor and staff said Tikosyn has very good results to maintain NSR.
