Anyone know if 441 is closed between Knoxville and Cherokee?

Anyone know if 441 is closed between Knoxville and Cherokee?
Headed from Pigeon Forge to Spartanburg and I'm getting some conflicting info from GPS and locals. GPS telling me 441 between Knoxville and Cherokee is closed in multiple areas, but other folks here are saying it's the better route to take and it's open.

Any boots on ground in this area?

I not boots on the ground, but I just plugged the route into Google Maps. It has multiple road closures on 441. This was updated 6 minutes ago. Google is pretty accurate at reporting.

So yes, it appears that 441 is closed.

According to the National Park Service:

US 441/Newfound Gap Road closed for ice and snow

Due to forecasted ice and snow for areas above 4,000 feet, US 441/Newfound Gap Road closed overnight beginning at 6 p.m. Oct 15. Staff will assess conditions the morning of Oct 16.
