The lack of understanding, thought, etc, about this pandemic among them is not surprising but shows how delusional they are.

They are only concerned about themselves. This is typical of emotional retardation. Lack of concern for others is a sure sign of childishness. Having aged passed childhood physically but not emotionally makes them developmentally retarded. Not only that but for ostensibly educated people they are remarkably inarticulate and unable to assemble logical sequences. How can we have hope for the future of this society if these are the 'educated' among our number? No wonder they fall for scams like socialism. They are nothing more than simpletons erroneously convinced of their erudition. It is insult to injury to be vulnerable to these mutton-heads.

I would not necessarily take Miami spring breakers to be generally representative of modern youth. None of the kids I or my kids know ever did the South Florida spring break thing. But then again, these kids are now employed in medical equipment and high tech, not frying julienne potatoes or self actuated reproductive anthropology (aka fucking off).

Gettin' drunk, gettin' high, gettin' laid. They're the only happy people on the planet right now. Let 'em have fun. Yeah, they're ignorant. This is new?

Once again, I reiterate that all this "social distancing" stuff is only so much theater. You can call me crazy, but the only reason we're going through this stupid shit right now is because a Republican is in the White House.
I don't care whether anyone agrees with me on this. Really, I don't.

As were we all at that age - with a thought only to how to get the next beer, the next meal, the next girl before waking up tomorrow and doing it again.

The response to H1N1 during the last presidency PROVES your point perfectly. (Not that you needed validation but I've been telling people this of late as well.)

This idiotic hysteria, this sheer panic, and NOT the virus, is the most dangerous component in our lives right now. People can focus on, split hairs, and argue all day about data, stats, curves, until they're blue in the face. and at the end of the day, when this virus becomes yesterday's news, with the aftermath and the damage still left behind, folks will eventually wonder "what the fuck just happened to our country?", with millions of lives turned upside down.

I know this sounds callous and easy for me to say as someone who is not sick and highly unlikely to get sick from this virus, but the economic impact this will have on our country is not going to be justified even if potentially saves 100K lives or more.

If at any point I start to get sanctimonious about how those interviewed are acting, I have to stop myself and think about my mentality at that age and point in my own life.

I would have been just dumb enough to do an interview back then, if someone stuck a camera in my face. Only, I'd have been much more colorful with my descriptions of Coronavirus' momma.

I did some things as a yoot that make these folks look like genuine scientific rockets.

Me and the Mrs are on vacation on the Florida coast south of St. Petersburgh. Everything had been fine until these "callous youth" Spring Break stories hit. The next day, they started shutting down bars and restaurants. We just got word that, starting tomorrow, the beaches will be closed as well.

Last I heard, 100+ people have died from this "pandemic". As bad as that is for those families, that doesn't even match the body count in Chicago over a couple of summer weekends. This whole charade is to inflict as much pain and inconvenience on the American public while at the same time blaming Trump non-stop.

But, would Democrats and the media really cause billions of dollars of economic damage on this country just to see Trump lose?

Yes. Gleefully.

Yeah, not that he needs anyone to agree with him, but Para is spot on.

Want a real crisis? Have some new virus with the transmissibility of the common cold virus and the hardiness of the Hepatitis B virus, but with the mortality rate of the rabies virus. Now, that will be a real crisis with a real possibility of civilization's end. Otherwise, this is a bullshit crisis. Most folks that have the virus will get better.

They are going too far shutting down beaches.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
