About a month ago one of my Sons went to a concert in LA and his iPhone 14 was stolen. He noticed it was missing not long after he used it. When he got home he reported it to AT&T as lost/stolen and was told if someone tried to use it he would receive a notice. Well today he got notified that it was turned on in China.
He did some reserch and it turns out there's a market for black market iPhone parts there. You'd think it would be easier to just steal parts off the assembly line there.

Too bad you can't enter a code to cause your phone's Li battery to burst into flames.

There are many scammers who will try and trick the owners to unlock and remove the apple id lock on it, then they can activate it again. Do not fall for it.. screw thieves.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Without even looking at your location I knew you were in California. This has been going on ever since Prop 47 passed in this God-forsaken state.

Within hours of your son's phone being stolen it went to a fence in Oakland, then into a container at Port of Oakland and onto a ship straight to China.

It isn't just iPhones. It's tons of the "organized retail theft" (the Left's new word for the mass thievery they've caused), auto burglaries and robberies. When crime has no penalty and there is a huge market for goods this was inevitable.

High end goods get stolen here in California (especially in the Bay Area and LA) and go straight to China or to the UAE.
