I purchased this set today and want to know a bit more about it. It is made from light colored teak and the frosted glass table top is in its collapsed position. The upper top would slide to the left and the lower top slides to the right and then raises to the same level as the first one. Pretty unique. I think it is of the Danish Modern design. I have never seen another like it and hoped someone here could impart a bit of knowledge about it. Haven't posted a picture in some time so hope this works. It is Danish modern. We had a similar design living in central Germany in the late 70's, but I believe the set dated back to the '60's. Can't help you, but it is one beautiful piece of furniture.

Looks nice, enjoy!

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Might be Domino Mobler. Look on the underside of the table and chairs, there should be labels.

I searched through many Vintage Danish Modern furniture sites and found nothing similar. Not sure what to call the table top extension type. It is quite unlike anything I have seen previously. I have seen some custom made Amana furniture that has an underside leaf on each end but none that totally nest completely under each other.

The shop will not be open until Tuesday. I will look on the underside for labels then.

If I'm honest, I would not have pegged that set for vintage. Most of the mid century and Danish designers I'm aware of used round legs. What's the top? Glass? I'd call that for the 2000s, probably even 2010s... I mean, there are a lot of mid century makers and designs, but to give you the gist without having to walk more than 10 feet from where I'm sitting Smile.

forgive me for not so much as even moving the yesterdays kids placemats or laundry! lol

mid-century modern

My curiosity is certainly up about this and I have found a couple of pictures of similar sets made by a company from Italy, Calligaris but nothing in the way of details. There is still time to kill the deal if it was overpriced but I somewhat like the look. One other drawback might be the seating arrangement when extended, If the side chairs end up squeezed together and the end chairs moved back too far it is also a no go. I was hoping to find a value new or used of a similar set in my searches but so far no luck.
