Unfortunately too many people drive like absolute nutbags through parking lots and in front of stores like that and they are trying to not have people get run over.

Can't be real. Those aren't speed bumps, those are parking stops.

The best way to hit speed bumps is one side over, other side off. Next best way is to cross at an angle so the tires at either end of the car cross it independently of each other (say at about a 30° angle). Either way lets the suspension take the bump without jarring the entire vehicle.

Wentzville store manager takes matters into his own hands after wrong speed bumps installed
Author: Sam Clancy

WENTZVILLE, Mo. — Shoppers at a Wentzville Home Depot had an unexpectedly bumpy ride after the wrong speed bumps were installed Monday.

Wentzville Mayor Nick Guccione said the store on Wentzville Parkway had experienced issues with people speeding through the area, resulting in some near-misses, so they hired a vendor to install some speed bumps. He said the vendor installed speed curbs instead of speed bumps.

Guccione said the vendor told the store it would not be able to fix the problem until Tuesday, so the manager removed the curbs himself. Guccione said he had not heard of any cars being damaged.

Video from the parking lot was shared widely on TikTok. (Warning: The video contains explicit language.)

Guccione said the correct speed bumps will be installed on Tuesday.

For actual speed bumps: blip the throttle right at the speed bump unloading the front suspension and let off once the front wheels are over the bump to unload the rear suspension.

Exactly how I think about it.

City installed some in front of a school. "Think of the children!"

Now everyone suffers from them even when school isn't in session.

The Moran's in charge here in my neighborhood in Chicago, decided to put speed bumps around the local grade school. Unfortunately this is also the main route for the firetrucks if they want the fastest route going south.
Now the fire trucks and ambulances are forced to drive through my car lined street, circular street in a round about route to the same destination.

There must be more to this story. Surely parking blocks incorrectly installed in another state can’t be the reason you made this statement. Same for Trio, who posted AFTER the store manager removed the blocks himself.
