Ah, the old friend he illegally leaked a classified document to is now his personal attorney who can claim attorney/client privilege when the walls come tumbling down. What a scumbag.

The document was given to the attorney, who then released it.

He either is not bound by privledge with respect to the release of the document or he violated privledge by releasing the document.

As someone said last year, you can't parody these people. It would be very difficult to make it look any more bizarre.

I don't see how it matters. So, you can give a classified document to an attorney who neither has need to know, nor a proper clearance, and then have said attorney leak the document to the public?

Why didn't Aldrich Ames just hand over the classified stuff to an attorney to then hand over to the Soviets? Did he not know of this loophole? Confused

That's great for Comey but when does the trial start to prosecute the law professor for leaking classified information?

So, he became his attorney as of today. Is attorney-client privilege retro-active?

From the article:
quote:
The specific timing of the attorney-client relationship is important, because it may shield conversations between Comey and Richman regarding the coordinated leak of FBI records to the media from law enforcement scrutiny. Richman’s legal work on behalf of Comey was not known before today, as Comey testified before Congress in 2017 that Richman was merely a friend.

Also:
quote:
The tactic of using attorney-client privilege to shield potentially illegal communications from law enforcement scrutiny is not a new one. During the FBI investigation of then-secretary of state Hillary Clinton’s potential mishandling of classified information, Cheryl Mills, one of Clinton’s top government aides at the State Department, also claimed that she could not testify about her communications with Clinton on the matter because she was also serving as Clinton’s personal attorney.

“I have nothing to say about any of this,” Richman responded, when asked directly whether attorney-client privilege was being asserted in order to shield his communications with Comey regarding the deliberate leaking of classified documents to the media.

Richman was first licensed to practice law in the state of New York in 1986, according to public records, and his current law license in that state is valid through October 2018.

There to be executed, by the Warden, in a manner deemed both cruel and unusual.

Are these memos actually classified national security stuff or merely FBI internal keep from the public and Congress?

If so, was this professor in possession of a security clearance, as Clinton’s attorneys had to be to receive her e-mails?

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

I think Comey is a textbook psychopath. Where most of us have a conscience, so we would feel remorse if we did something really bad, Comey as a psychopath has... a void, nothing, empty space. That's why he can tweet quotes from the Bible, make these grand holier-than-thou pronouncements, accept a position at William and Mary teaching *gag* "Ethical Leadership."

You or I could not do it. But a psychopath can, easy peasy. They are not all violent, there are lots, I think-- undiagnosed-- in business and politics. Often very successful. The violet ones can stab someone to death, and then sit on his chest and eat a ham sandwich made from his fridge. The non-violent can do comparable things, without the blood and gore. Like completely corrupt the agency you lead and then send out Bible tweets.
