I learned this the hard way. Couple winters ago I was at a buddies house and he had Bookers; never tried it before....it was...smooth!

But I was drinking it at the rate I usually do Makers or Knob....really F’d me up.

Grumpy's liquor cabinet has most of my favorites. I have settled on
Elijah Craig
Baker's
Blanton's
Wild Turkey Rare Breed

Those are my four.

I add in a couple Scotch whiskies:
Aberlour 12
Talisker or Lagavulin

And one Irish:
Rebreast 12

And I'm set

Thanks guys for all the good recommendations and thanks to Censored for offering to help with obtaining some of the suggestions. I am going to see if I can find some of the ones you've mentioned locally. I'm willing to drive about 2 hours but not much more and don't mind going in to North Carolina if I need to. I will make sure not show him pictures of Grumpy's collection to make him jealous.

My "new" bourbon--as I like to switch up my staple every now and then--is now Knob Creek, the 100 proof bottle. I picked up a bottle on my way up to the Andirondacks last Wednesday and finished the bottle in three nights. I'm a fan. I'll have a bottle in my home bar after my next trip to the liquor store, that I promise you.

I promise you, if you like Knob Creek, you'll love their Single Barrel, which is a good value at 120 proof near barrel strength and under $45.00. 46and2 recommended this one to me, and anytime he recommends something, I have learned to pay attention.

Thanks again for all the help. I ended getting a bottle of Bookers and he was VERY appreciative. I'm a little disappointed he didn't invite me over to try some.
