Sounds like reasoning for taking a ‘resource’ officer out of school, it’s racist.

nhtagmemberthe shotspotter system isn't racist
that's actually not possible
however, the people controlling it are in fact the very racists they decry
just wait for the outcry and the mental meltdowns when white people start claiming racism for being treated like we are
but we're a resilient bunch and we can take a lot from these cretins before someone reaches a tipping point
whatever happened to MLK?

You and your damned "White Privilege" [/sarcasm ]

It's the same with the red light cameras and speed cameras. Somehow they only catch black & brown drivers.

Nativity Church is FILLED with people from the "Old Neighborhood" every Christmas.
There's still one or two hold-outs, thinking the neighborhood is going to change back, or refuse to get pushed out of here.

Bulldog7972My aunt was like that. She lived at 54th and Peoria. Didn't want to leave because she thought the change in demographics was temporary and things would get better. She was one of the last to leave and only left because my cousin was shot on the church steps as he exited from church one day.

jsbcodyMaybe CPD Sig, Bulldog or Klusk could answer this:
How many shooting "victims" does the Shotspotter system save by getting cops and then ambulances on scene right away? Maybe 50 to 100? Maybe 200 a year? so those will be bodies now hitting the DRT (Dead Right There) column and adding to the city's murder total. Also how many of these Shotspotter shooting alerts with bodies down get solved because the cops have a head start on a fresh crime scene to work?
If they get rid of it, coupled with staffing issues, this summer will be bad, next summer will be full on Mad Max/Haiti territory.

The company behind the controversial gunshot detection technology ShotSpotter will begin removing its sensors across Chicago on Monday, hours after its contract expires with the city.
ShotSpotter will stop transmitting its data to Chicago police at midnight barring a last minute order or invention from Mayor Brandon Johnson. On Thursday, the device’s parent company, SoundThinking, said it would begin the process of removing some 2,000 sensors starting on Monday.
The day prior, Johnson indicated he would veto a City Council effort aimed at keeping the technology.
Johnson was asked what he would do with the city funds that had been previously dedicated to ShotSpotter. He suggested that the city was interested in investing in other technology and communities he said had been historically underserved.
“We're open to technology, but it has to be technology that works. So, it's not just simply about redirecting (funds). It's about making sure that the people of Chicago are getting what they're what they deserve,” Johnson told reporters Thursday...

I can't quote the numbers off hand, but CWB, which is the last bastion of true reporting in this city has some pretty good articles if you search in their recent (1 year or so).

Oh, the People of Chicago are getting EXACTLY what they deserve.
They (mostly) voted for this idiot, now they get to put up with his stupidity.
I feel sorry for the actual decent people of Chicago who didn't vote for this tomfuckery

Lefty Sig^^^ The ballots of Chicago elected him, not necessarily the voters. It's the most corrupt machine Democrat city in the U.S. and Republicans can never win, ever.

Skins2881^^^ I would have to assume that removing a dead shooting victim is way less paperwork than saving a victim or catching murderer, so at least they can reallocate to resources into something more impactful.
Maybe gender inclusive trainings for the officers? Maybe some pride flag badges to lower crime?
