Yeah and these are not my pants. Actually this apparently happened. Picture on link. http://wgntv.com/2018/05/24/dr...k-object-struck-car/ LAKEWOOD, Wash. -- "Well...this is a first." That's how Washington State Patrol Trooper Guy Gill tried to explain the bizarre scene that unfolded Thursday morning in Pierce County. Gill said a driver saw a small "black object" in the air while driving on Interstate 5. It hit his car, but he kept driving and didn’t check to see what had happened. There didn't seem to be anything terribly wrong with the car, so the driver kept going. About 18 miles later, he told the trooper that he stopped for gas and found a black handgun sticking out of the Honda's front bumper. WSP photo Gill said authorities recovered the gun and turned it over to Lakewood police for further investigation. Where the gun came from and how it ended up lodged in the bumper remained a mystery as of Thursday afternoon.

Not a mystery. One of my co-workers once laid his duty pistol on the roof of his car and drove off with the pistol on the roof. We never did find it. I expected him to be fired or suspended, but he skated. I would guess that is what happened here. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

Fail You're supposed to rip the Glock out of the bumper and fire at the nearest street sign to complete the test.

It's not a Glock. | |||

The metal bumpers on my truck would have come through unscathed. Yet another benefit. ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom. Every man should have several guns. And several dogs, because a man with a cat is a woman. Kurt Schlichter

I was working the duty desk several years ago and a CV22 flight engineer apparently leaned out the door of his aircraft flying low level and dropped an M9 on the beach. He got in major trouble, weapon never recovered. No shit the next week I’m working same night shift, and the same guy has his pilots fly back to the same spot so he can show them how he leaned out and dropped the weapon (presumably so his peers could avoid his mistake) and HE DROPS ANOTHER WEAPON. This one the whole crew witnesses fall into the surf about 12’ from the shore. They call it in, and the dude drives down there and spends all night wading around looking for it. Weapon never recovered. I don’t know the final results of his punishment but I can’t imagine it was pleasant.

Twice during Desert Storm we found loaded hand guns in the catwalk during FOD walkdown. Same area and presumably the aircrew from the same ready room. Neither time was the lost firearm reported before it was found. Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. That guy was super lucky he was struck with the muzzle end. Can you imagine the damage if he was hit by the GRIP ZONE!!!!!!! upload a gif _______________________________________________ Use thumb-size bullets to create fist-size holes.

At least they could have had the decency to include a magazine with the gun. My daughter can deflate your daughter's soccer ball.

I had a co-worker who went into the restroom at the local ER and went about his business. A while later, a nurse went into the restroom and found his 686 (fine, I'm old, and this was a couple decades ago) in the sink. Oops. --------------------------------------

The evidence suggests a ghetto-style jacking (note the sideways cant of the weapon) that met with vehicular resistance.
