I have Covid EDIT: I'm Home
I tested positive Feb 12 just hours before I was suppose to fly to Hungary for work. I experienced head cold symptoms, chills and very slight fever for a day or so. I lost taste and smell about 3 days in for only about 5 days. I only had a very slight “tightness” in my chest but no coughing or breathing issues. I was fatigued and a bit “impaired” for about a week.

I have been back to work traveling for two weeks now. What helped me is vitamin C, Zinc and vitamin D. I took them daily since last July when I went back on the road for work and I really think this regiment of daily vitamins helped to knock it down when I finally got it. I also found that the powder packets of vitamin C with a bottle of water twice a day did wonders for me when I had it the first few days. Hope this helps, best of luck.

This is day 8 and I have never run a fever yet.

My temp was 98.2 at the clinic this morning, and my blood pressure was 117/75.

Basically, physically I feel pretty good, except for being slightly short of breath when I walk around the house, then I take a hit or 2 from the Albuterol inhaler.

I'm taking those as good signs, so far. Could be a whole lot worse.

Thank you guys, it's great just to be able to talk about it, makes me feel better and more relaxed.

If you have made it 8 days I think you will be good. Mine lasted three weeks but the first week was the worse.

Prayers for you. My doctor told me that some studies he had read show that many people that are hit hard with Covid have low vitamin D and zinc. He told me to take supplement of vitamin C, D, and zinc daily. Maybe this will help speed your complete recovery. God Bless !!! Smile

A fever is considered to be the body’s natural effort to fight infections by making a less-hospitable environment for the pathogens. In recent times I’ve seen more opinions expressed that although extremely high fevers can be harmful in themselves, fevers shouldn’t be suppressed entirely.

So, what you are saying is that a fever is your body trying to autoclave itself? Big Grin

Rest, drink lots of water. If you are on anti bacterial meds, take pro-biotics. The natural flora in your small intestine is improrant, and meds typically kill that off. So take quality, refrigerated, pro-biotics every day.

Lots of Vit. C, probably some Vit. D as well. Eat a large amount of quality fruits and vegetables, plus some protein, every day.

A couple of close friends had it. Both had light symptoms but one said the worst and strangest thing was he completely lost his senses of taste and smell. I hope you recover quickly.

Glad your doing Ok. Have not had to deal with this personally, thank goodness. It is no joke, and just amazed at how easy, or bad it can be to deal with. Take care.

Prayers with you OKCGene, My wife and I am right here with you started having symptoms Tuesday. Tested yesterday both of us have it. Both of us feel like we took on a plow truck and ended in the ditch. Lost taste and smell two days ago. Keep hydrated

So you were vaccinated before getting the diagnostic test indicating you were positive? What kind of test (assay) was performed? Was your physician aware that you were pre-vaccinated?

The reason I ask is if you were vaccinated before the test was performed and they ran an antibody (ELISA) test versus PCR, then you most likely are a false positive.

One thing to remember Pulse Ox’s have a 2-3% error factor. I would think if it consistently read around 90% when 95% is normal that I might address with my Dr. Let him make the decision what to do. Use different fingers to get readings as not all fingers have the same blood flow.

Best wishes & prayers. We all had Covid back in Oct, fever & the common symptoms. I was the worst of 4 of us.

I’d start with the usual protocol, rest, hydration, maybe some immune system boost, vitamins, or Zinc.

Towards the end I did take a common steroid that was used for some. It wasn’t prescribed through local medical but from a relative. Not sure if it helped or not.

I never did go to the hospital, came close, they didn’t seem like they had much to offer, unless I couldn’t breathe.

We treat anything 94% or below in the field. If you start seeing readings lower than your current 95% contact your doctor for advice on next steps. That has been the M/O with Covid around here rather than having people hauling themselves to the hospital.

That being said, if you have any critical symptoms (Shortness of breath regardless of O2 sat, chest pain, dizziness, blurred vision, etc) or if you're unsure, don't hesitate to call 911.
