Haven't heard? News for the hard of hearing:
In newer news, I heard on Fox News last night that McCain had a 51% approval rating among Republicans in a recent (pre-death) poll. That same poll had him at 70% approval among Democrats.
That tell you anything?
Let me ask those among us who are uncritical of McPain, if you lived in Arizona, would you have voted for him, knowing his record in the Senate? Or would you have told him to take his military medals and retire honorably?
Myself, I'd have told him to go to Hell.

Sure.
Democrats loved him, as a republican. He handed obama the presidential election and 60 senate seats. He saved obamacare and was pro amnesty for illegal aliens and in a general large thorn in President Trumps side bashing him on TV every chance he could get.

Apparently he requested that Bush and Obama eulogize him.
Fitting.

Also, don't forget his answer to just about every issue the US faced in the world was to send the US military to go blown something up. Maybe, just maybe, we should mind our own business occasionally and not mire ourselves in every pissing contest around the globe.

jdmb03The media coverage is nauseating. How about we honor POW's that haven't mooched off taxpayers for decades. McCain should have retired years ago.

pbslingerMy opportunity to express to RINO McCain my regret for voting for him in 2008 has passed. I did so wishing to prevent usurper BHO from becoming president, something McCain had mediocre passion to prevent.
Hearing dim politicians fawn over him today tells much about him. He seems unique in being admired by the opposition, perfect evidence of his success at masquerading as a Republican. His greatest accomplishment was functioning as a dim, with the façade of Republican.
DT has a knack for causing phonies to expose their true selves, and McCain overachieved in this regard.
Looking at his military service, I see no apparent damage he ever did to the enemy. I know of no kills or successful missions if they exist. He certainly destroyed much US equipment.
What is his greatest act as a Senator protecting the Constitution, American people or America, or conservative ideals?
If he'd won in 2008 and won reelection, he'd have only been out of office for a year and half at this point. He'd more likely have had an unsuccessful first term, and Hillary would have been elected in 2012, possibly with him being OK with that. DT might never have been elected if McCain damaged the Republican brand massively.
Fawning by dims is likely because he acted as a deep stater, and him being a staunch never Trumper. I'll be glad when the accolades are done and finish putting him in the past.

Republican gov Duecy is seeking re-election. I'd say appointing his daughter is a real possibility.
Although McCain's term runs to 2022, his replacement will only serve until 2020. Arizona has a law that states replacements serve until the next general election.

gearhoundsWe are better off without this RINO. Also, Trump is showing way more respect and class than McCain deserves after his meddling to aid the left.

What the hell are you thinking? Nothing he did in war time will make up for his traitorous, behavior that he has exhibited since being elected. He stands for all the wrong things. He has absolutely no honor. Some of you guys need to slap yourself into a little bit of reality. Shame on you.
Ummm, a bit extreme if you ask me. Show us on the doll where McCain hurt you.
Well I was going to stay out. Don't feel like bashing the dead, but if you can't figure out in at least one way McCain hurt you you are a idiot or being obtuse. I'll give you a big clue, it has to do with your entire body.
I understand why many hate him, but I'm not going to dance on his grave. He doesn't get a pass from being spoken ill about because he's a war hero. Just not going to go pop a bottle of bubbly to celebrate his death.
Blame that on Donald Trump. I voted for Trump - but his comments on McCain were what led to that. His tweet about McCain was hands down the most ignorant thing he's said thus far. I don't give a shit about McCain in the long run, but I find the comments in this thread fascinating. Trump was the sole reason that vote didn't pass, not John McCain.

Sticks and stones may break my bones but tweets will never make me vote against the interest of my constituency.
Or something to that effect. So yeah, Trump's fault!

ChuckFinleyHow many votes does Trump have the ability to cast in the Senate?

12131Letting your pettiness guided your vote that affected millions negatively. Yeah, it's Trump's fault. Man, it's amazing how some rationalizes to excuse this POS.

This. So the words of one man were enough to sacrifice your principles and honor, and vote against millions of fellow Americans?
I go back to my earlier point about Benedict Arnold being a hero initially (and quite candidly, much more of one than the deceased senator could ever hope to be), and yet he is known for what he did AFTER his service to the country. This situation is no different.

There was also a lot of bad blood between them because McCain got slaughtered in the 2008 presidential election and Donald Trump handily won when he was not supposed to have a chance. McCain was a very petty man and his ego could not handle that.

Reminds me of the mentality of one of the Jr. DFs when he was 10. His logic was that I should not punish him when he did something wrong because that just makes him mad. He was only 10 though.
