and I'm seeing if anyone here can take him or refer me to a rescue who can take him in.

He's a lab and maybe boxer mix of some sort, somewhere around 12 years old, house trained. He doesn't bark very much and doesn't hear very well. Walks fine but just prefers to laze around the house. We took him in when his previous humans moved and were going to leave him at a shelter. Gets along with other dogs, we lost 2 dogs last year, had 3 total for many years, and gets along with cats. No issues with children, either.

Due to my financial and living situation, I cannot bring him with us. Last year was a very difficult year for us.

I'm in central Florida but could bring him anywhere within a 5-6 hour drive of Orlando. Really don't want to bring him to a shelter.

I will post pictures of him when I get home.

Hoping you find someone to take him. In the meantime, good on you for taking him in at the time of his need. Cheers.

In the meantime, see if you have any dog rescues nearby that can take him if all else fails.

Good luck.

Best wishes to you... and the dog.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

The link is for dachshunds but maybe they can refer you to other re-homing volunteers. Good luck.

VERY Sorry to hear this. Frown If you can't rehome home him directly you you might want to reach out to the Darbster Foundation in West Palm Beach.

There are numerous Rescues that are associated w/ No-Kill Shelters, or that literally operate as 'Travel Rescues' to relocate the animals to other areas/states. Darbster Foundation is such a rescue org, but there may be others closer to your location.

https://www.darbsterfoundation.com/darbster-rescue/

Since 2015 they have transported and helped save the lives of over 13,550 homeless cats & kittens, and 2250 dogs since 2018! Darbster has a transport van that usually makes two trips per week from FL to NH in an effort to relocate homeless cats, and a 30' gooseneck trailer that transports 12-14 dogs per week. Darbster has two separate operations in NH, Darbster Kitty and Darbster Doggy that ultimately find loving forever homes for these pets seeking to find their people!

This is Maggie, a rescue kitten from Darbster Kitty we adopted back in January. Smile

Maggie hopes everything works out for your boy, and your family.

I'm sorry for your situation. This is the saddest thing I've seen today.
