Had one. Would own one again. Liked it a lot, except for one drive, full of passengers, the whole way out and back across PA in one day. It made me physically ill from the noise. It really has to wind up to get power over the mountains.

For around town and shorter highway trips, it was a joy.

Only one problem in 7 years, - it was a CV axle gone bad.

Rogue:
Did it have the 2.0 or 2.5 engine?

FYI, the cvt has a reputation for mechanics (backyard or professional) screwing up the lubricant change. Since I didn't have one, I am somewhat fuzzy on the details, but the wrong fluid gets put into the trans because the fill cap is mistaken for something else. Engine oil maybe.

Anyhow, if you have the Subaru CVT, be alert to the wrong fluid being installed in the cvt.

I got one, my wife does, she is not any good at shifting, but she thinks she is. No problems 90K miles, x rear wheel bearing.
I change the oil every 5K

It's easier than you might think to drain the transmission and double-fill the engine (or vice versa), and not just on that car.

I think it was a 2013, so it would have been the original engine, which I suppose is likely the 2.0. It had crazy torque off the line, but then you had to use the RPM range to get speed. I liked the performance well enough, and never noticed horrible noise when by myself (most of the time). But with a fuller load, for 10 hours, yikes.

One other important point. The older ones have wonderful physical HVAC controls. The newest ones have a plank of touch screen.

There are numerous, as in many, reports of Subaru dealership mechanics doing it!

Yet another reason I diy most of my own maintenance

Even knowing the correct drain plug, I still double check before breaking it loose.
Our Expedition has a Fumoto on the oil pan, so that makes it easier to not get it wrong. Not an option on the Mini, since it would hang down from the pan & be a target for road debris to knock it off.

I love the Fumoto. Have one on the motorcycle and had one on the Crosstrek. But now we have German cars that have so much to remove under the engine to get to the drain plug that I use an electric pump to suction the oil out.
