They were starting to turn their lives around and broke in on purpose to protect the guns from other looters. If you don't believe me, ask their mothers..

I have not either but in a disaster such as this you could technically lose or be forced to leave your stockpile.

All I am saying is I have compassion for folks trying to survive, feed their kids etc. hell even in some ways for those who didn't or couldn't prepare.

You come walking out of Best Buy with a 60 inch and an Xbox and are going back for an HDMI cable I have NO COMPASSION FOR. You use force or intimidation to rob others or simply steal their provisions, again NO COMPASSION.

Sounds like it was only two guys and one's given up. That's bad enough, especially in a hurricane, but I'm glad there weren't a few dozen dirtbags involved. If that one guy doesn't make it out in one piece, well, I'm gonna look to the future and hope the officers make it through Irma safely.

I have sympathy and compassion for those in need.

I have ZERO compassion for those who steal and brutalize others in order to benefit themselves.

Shooting is too good for them.

This is my thought as well. If the person taking necessary items to survive would just leave a note itemizing what was taken and that they would be back to pay for it when possible, then no foul. It's what I would do. All others, harsh punishment would ensue.
