In general, as you go up in power, is the inverter feature less necessary?

I've never been disappointed by my Honda generators, and I currently have 4 of them. One is 25 years old, not sure but I think it was their smallest one at the time that had 220V, 3500 I think.

My newest is sweet, tri-fuel, electric start, 8550 output, and I must admit I am currently building a Faraday cage for it.

Buy once, buy Honda.

I have had mine for many years. Starts right up every time, first time.

Pretty hard to beat the quality and sound level (quiet) of a Honda.

Just bought a Honda EU2000i last week from these guys, $899 delivered to my doorstep:

Electric Generator Depot

Ordered it on Monday, delivered on Friday. Added 13 ounces of oil, gas, and it fired up on the 4th pull. It's primary function will be to power my small travel trailer. Quiet, and the nice clean power will not fry your electronics.

I have 2 Hondas...a 6500 that lives on my grip truck and sometimes goes months w/i every being fired up yet has never no started instantly. The other is the EU2000 that I keep in my garage and although I love it I will say, especially with AZ heat, if I don't start and run it on a regular basis the card gets gummed up.

I will usually use the small one once a month or more to power my shop vac or trimmer just to run it and so I don't have cords all over the place

Kevmo, use some startron and fresh fuel. Even in Az I think you will bee good.

No comparison Honda vs the other one. That does not mean it will not start and run. It is just not a Honda and will never be.

Thanks, I will give that a shot...I have tried Stabil and still had same issue as well as draining gad, keep full with fresh, etc. From what I gather,in talking some local friends that have had same issue, is that the main is so small it gets gummed very easily and the last time I tore it down that was the case.

The problem with the small generators is the fuel passages are very small in the carberator. Buy some rec 90 (ethanol free) and Pri-G gas additive and that works great in hot South Florida. Another option is to spend the money for the rec90 in the can at home depot. OR, keep it full with rec 90, then once a month dump it in your car and put fresh rec90 in it and run it a few minutes every month.
