Ammo and Reloading Supply Related - I have enough but in these situations I want more.. What is wrong with me
Thread Title Edited - Sorry Guys - I did not mean to create a thread title that was viewed to be vague or mis-leading...My apology....Thanks to those who pointed this out...Mark
Hoping that there are others who can honestly post that when these situations (like we are in right now related to ammo and reloading supplies) occur there is a part of me that still “hunts” for good deals.....Yes I have plenty but when I go to Wal-Mart I find myself still going back to the sporting goods department to see if they have and “pre-panic” priced ammo....And the last two times they did so I bought 22’s one time and 308’s (20rd boxes of deer rounds for $11.97 per box) the other time...
The first place I go on this forum is to see if anyone has posted new information on ammo or reloading supply “deals”....I also find myself goIng to Powder Valley every time I pick up the I-Pad to see if they have primers - and once about 4 weeks ago they did and I ordered some....Not sure if there is something wrong with the wiring in my brain but finding a “deal” still puts a smile on my face (they are rare but it happens occasionally).....
Can others tell me that I am not alone in this quandry? This message has been edited. Last edited by: sigarmsp226,

Nothing wrong with you, but then again I'm judging you by my standards that may be off a bit

If I remember right, someone on this forum had this same problem quite a while back. I think they referred to themselves as being an Ammoholic.

Didn't run out of storage yet I guess?
I have moderate amount (10k+) and if I found any 9 at a good price, I'd snatch it up.

I'm in the same boat. I reload and make sure I have at least 1K of rounds for every common caliber. Some calibers in the .22 area, I need a lot more than 5K. Always looking for a good price and buy when I see it! You blink and it's gone! I don't think there's a problem here! (says one ammoholic to another) LOL

I am disappointed. Reading your thread title I thought the topic was toilet paper or maybe Clasusen pickles.

Same boat as you. There is an old timer owned gun shop in the area. He prices ammo based on his cost plus a certain percentage, uses an old fashioned price gun tags it and puts it on the shelf. I always go to the back of the ammo stacks, as you can sometimes find boxes cheaper in the back than the front for the same item. For example r3cently he had some 45 for 21/ box, but the older stock in the back of the pile was still priced at 18. Old close outs are my bag. When I lived in the northeast and still did waterfowl hunting, a local gander mountain had a “ close out” ammo shelf. Once after the end of the season, they had premium nontoxic shotshells ( I forget now what remingtons super heavy nontoxic type shot was) for less than a dollar a round! ( if you know anything about hevi-shot tungsten bismuth etc, you know it is often 3+ dollars a round)

Seems normal to me. I bought a box of 1,000 9mm fmj bullets yesterday that had been sitting on the LGS floor for several years.

Yesterday I sold my local gun shop 1000 rounds of 9mm for what I paid for it and 2000 rounds of .22. On my way home I was wondering if I should have done it but realized I still have several thousand rounds.
When I got home I went to combine my ammo cans and found one that got pushed to the back that had another 1000 rounds of 9mm so I'm back to where I was before I sold the previous batch.
I always buy a bunch when it's on sale so I never get nervous when times strike like this. I've been through enough panic buying that I take care of it way ahead of time. This message has been edited. Last edited by: 1s1k,

Did you just ask a bunch of enablers if you have a problem?

Everybody has a price point at which they are willing to pay, and a target for how much they want. I will pay $300 for a case of 9mm in the current market, and I will buy until I have about 20,000 rounds on hand. You have to decide what is right for you.

I decided to check this to see if it was about old P6's or maybe 10/22's...

Ammo and reloading supplies are in short supply but there's still plenty of knives and flashlights available at pre panic prices
