Particular when the content source is Apple TV+. I've been watching HD/UHD content from Prime, Max, Netflix. My monthly data consumption has been pretty stable.

I started subscribing to TV+ and my data usage has almost doubled! This may be correlated / causal to the audio loss issues I've been having (but again, changing from Atmos to PCM(?) alleviated the issue).

In response to approaching my service limit, my options seem to be:
1. watch content in HD instead of UHD. This may be okay / good enough.
2. upgrade plan to unlimited data (extra $30/mo). hesitant to do this unless it really makes a difference and other options are really not palatable. No income anymore....
3. watch less content. This is what I should do and probably won't be too hard since I'm running out of TV+ stuff to watch.
4. limit TV+ content. A variant of #3 and probably viable / advisable.

I really don't need UHD for most of the stuff I watch; HD is probably fine. So, #2 is likely out. I'll probably go w/ some hybrid of #1 and #3. #4 not as necessary if I do #1 (I'm thinking).

If anybody is considering TV+, watch your data consumption if you have capped service.

If you have any other options switch, a capped bandwidth ISP is a joke in 2025. I dont give a damn how much any home user consumes in bandwidth it costs the ISP maybe a few dollars.

Yea, I was surprised. Never thought much about it before since I didn't really use much, even WFH. Much more aware of data rate than data limit.

I can pay extra for unlimited - $30/mo more. I don't really have provider options, just plan option. $30/mo would bring monthly service to about $120/mo. I'm trending toward preferring the cheaper rate than the unlimited data.

Unless you sit close enough to a large enough screen you won’t really get any benefit.

I have to admit that I didn't know that many folks didn't already have unlimited plans.

Granted my situation is a bit different from the OP. When I got this plan, I had a teenager at home and a wife who was WFH. It didn't even occur to me not to get an unlimited plan.

I had some issues with my cable a while back and the tech who came out was more than happy to show me what he was checking. When looking at the "hub" for my block, I noticed that there was an additional "gadget" on one of the lines to my neighbors. I asked what it was and the tech told be that neighbor chose a reduced bandwidth for his home and the "gadget" throttled how much he was able to use. So the default is unlimited and if you want to pay less they just put a reducer on the line to your house

I download movies and television. When I had a 1080p monitor, the files were usually less than 8GBs for a movie. Now that I've got a 4k2k monitor, the files are rarely less than 50GBs for a movie.
