Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Today we should remember these two heroes, and thank God for making such men. https://special-ops.org/730/de...-randall-d-shughart/ NRA Life Member - "Fear God and Dreadnaught"

Indeed, two great men. I think of them often, and I am always inspired by their sacrifice, their bravery and their honor and integrity. It is the example of men like Sgt Shugart and Sgt Gordon that make our country the great country that it is. If you think you can, YOU WILL!!!!!

Selfless valor. RIP fine soldiers. Place your clothes and weapons where you can find them in the dark. “If in winning a race, you lose the respect of your fellow competitors, then you have won nothing” - Paul Elvstrom "The Great Dane" 1928 - 2016

Amen. I point to these extraordinary men when some one asks what a hero is. "Violence, naked force, has settled more issues in history than has any other factor.” Robert A. Heinlein “You may beat me, but you will never win.” sigmonkey-2020 “A single round of buckshot to the torso almost always results in an immediate change of behavior.” Chris Baker

I salute them. They didn't want those men to die feeling alone and abandoned. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
