I believe the tide has turned in this country. Yes, in the past we could count on many Republican citizens to be passive or at least quiet even if they found something offensive.

Heck, I also believe very many "conservatives" are actually classical liberals. Or lower-case-libertarian. What consenting adults do without harming others is none of my business. They can eat tofu, drive a Prius, be in a gay relationship, or whatever as long as they are leaving the rest of us alone.

But now I hear from a lot of people they have had enough because they sense a real threat. Conservatives tend to keep quiet, but I am also hearing strong concerns from people who previously have never said anything about politics (neighbors and acquaintances).

It is across numerous issues. Border security, lgbtq agenda with children, green agenda, government finances, race baiting, dei, and election integrity.

The tipping point has been reached.

TBH: I believe that probably describes the vast majority of people in the U.S.

I actually don't think what you see are conservatives waking up but just the regular Joe or Jane in the street. They've been going along to get along but things are getting too ridiculous even for them.

Just think of your average liberal suburban mother. They support anyone's wish to identify whatever they want to identify as. But, then, they see their daughters getting pushed out of college scholarships because some guy decided to identify as a woman and compete in women's sports.

They may even support schools helping students get an abortions without telling the student's parents because it would be taumatizing to the girl to have to carry to term. But then they learn schools actively push children to consider if they're actually the opposite gender than how they were born. And, they're saying to this, "wait, what????"

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Castrating children would seem a poor political strategy.

Maybe I'm odd, but the poem was pretty damn clear to me.

Who asked you?

I'm certain you looked at the exchange from the beginning and took into account the vague "he's right" part. I asked for clarification and I didn't get it, and I'm not a dullard. It's probably a good idea for you to stay out of it.
