Any preferred nail guns for roofing and vinyl siding?

RileyAny preferred nail guns for roofing and vinyl siding?
I realize a staple gun would be used for siding but was omitted to simplify the title.
I need a nail gun to shingle the roof of my shed and future shop as well as a staple gun for vinyl siding on the same. Air powered preferably at this point as the battery units seem to be more expensive and heavier.
I’ve framed and sheathed the shed by hand but I’ll be looking at nail guns for that when I build a shop later.

heisriznNot sure how much roofing you're gonna do but a coil roofing nailer is a unitasker to my knowledge. Might want to hand nail it just like you will have to do with the vinyl siding. Vinyl siding uses roofing nails but they will need to float to allow for expansion and contraction of the vinyl.

MikeinNCHand nail vinyl, you have to leave a gap so the siding can move, should not nail it down firmly, otherwise it looks wavy when it gets cold

petrCould you adjust the air pressure so the nails are not set to allow movement of the siding? I don't know, that is why I ask.

RileyThe two staple guns I've used can be set to stand off slightly to allow the vinyl to move. I just don't have access to them or remember what they were. They were 1/4" wide staples about 3/4" long if I remember.
I was just working for friends and such so it may not have been the proper tool but it worked well. The siding still looks good a few years later.

rtquigAs Arc stated, nail loose. Siders say "hang", you want it deep enough to hold it and loose enough to allow for expansion and contraction.

Yes you can, same with a roofing coil nailer. Do savages typically? No.
Roofing crews often put 5000 nails per shingle, most of which have blown through. When 4 would do, set so they don't sink too deep.

RileyIt may not be right, thus my questions. We'd straddle the slot in the vinyl so that it hung from the lower leg of the staple but it wasn't tight to the wall.
