snideraWhen my brain says one thing....
And my mouth says another is usually a problem.
This time, not so much.
My brain said 'fuck this', my mouth said 'Ok, that's my 2 weeks'.
On April fools day, I'll be unemployed for the first time since I was 16-ish, minus a semester or 2 in college.
I didn't enjoy telling the crew I built that I'm leaving, but I got good feedback. I can be proud of that. If you don't enjoy what you are doing, it's time to go.

ugeestaCongrats.
I’m calling the lid on April 17th. That gave my boss about 7 weeks to find my replacement. 4.5 weeks to go, but whose counting

Agreed. Life is too short to be unhappy, both in your personal and professional lives. I had that realization a few years back, and took the hard step of quitting a long term position back in 2023, and I came out the other end in a much better spot.
It's nice to have the financial flexibility to do that, whether it's just for a short term job/company/career change or a long term retirement.

old rugged crossCongrats. New opportunities can be great. I hope you make the most of it. When I quit most of my co workers said "I could not afford to quit". I said I could not afford to stay. That was more than 20 years ago. Wish you the best.

bigwagonCongrats. I did the same thing two weeks ago, about a month ahead of my planned schedule, but I decided enough was enough and a couple of paychecks won't make a material difference to my retirement plans.

FiveFiveSixFanCongrats. I've been in that situation a time or two. It's not always that you're not enjoying what you're doing but rather the conditions under which you are being forced to do it.
All the best!
