ARmanSanta on NORAD, and other Christmas Eve things
Well, been keeping an eye on Santa Claus vis NORAD. He has already been by the homestead to drop off Christmas gifts for Ahyoka Star. Her first Christmas is going to be a big one!
We watched the Russian State ballet online. After that had a nice Christmas Eve dinner.
A little pasta and meat sauce, broccoli, salmon croquettes with a tarter/cocktail sauce/datil pepper sauce. And shrimp cocktails, Ahyoka Star had a little of the salmon with her dinner.
After we watched " A Christmas Story" , and The midnight Mass.
Christmas morning, Ahyoka Star will open her Christmas presents, a nice breakfast, a nap more Christmas movies and later in the evening a friend will stop by with some "Christmas chili" and more Christmas movies.
Ahyoka Star and myself want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year!

I surely will! Merry Christmas my friend!
Ahyoka Star had a big haul from Santa Claus! Great fun and hilarity ensued! She ran off with a gift bag! What the heck, it was her toy anyway! LoL....

V-TailSanta on NORAD? Here is my true story.
I did a four year stint, working on contract in the Birmingham area. Used the V-Tail to fly home to spend weekends with my wife.
Christmas Eve I had worked late to finish a software update, wanted to get it done so that I could take an extra day off, so it was a late night / very early morning flight home.
Quick background for non-pilots: when flying on an instrument flight plan, we are in radio contact with an Air Traffic Control Specialist, who handles traffic in his / her sector (area). Approaching a sector boundary, ATC effects a handoff to the next sector, advising the pilot of the radio frequency to be used. Pilot checks in with the next sector, confirming altitude, whereupon pilot is advised of the local altimeter setting (barometric pressure), and possibly any observed traffic.
It was around 2:00 am on Christmas morning, no weather problems, very little air traffic, so the radio frequency was pretty quiet.
ATC: "8824M (that was me), contact Tallahassee Approach, 135.8, Merry Christmas."
Me: (after changing frequency) "Good morning Tallahassee Approach. 8824M level 7,000."
Tallahassee Approach: "Good morning 8824M, Tallahassee altimeter 30.08, traffic your eleven o'clock, your altitude, slow moving. Looks like a sleigh and eight, no, make that nine, reindeer."
