Seriously you have a bunch of players running around for an hour or more without any scores. It's sort of like watching a bunch of ants scurrying around on a hot rectangular pan.

Forget about seeing any local news because it's all about the world cup. Fox is the worst, they didn't even make at attempt for the evening news. There is a lot more going on in the world at present and the only thing providing any information are DEEPLY biased outlets like CNN.

I've stopped counting.

I like it when they do the penalty kicks and somebody screws up and misses and loses the game.

You are not alone, sir! An entire soccer game can be summed up in like 2 minutes (or less) of highlights. The other 2 hours and 58 minutes (or whatever the referees decided) is a pure ZZZ-fest.

This sport is great exercise if you are trying to get your steps in otherwise its like watching the greatest actors flop on the field (read Lebron James) and play hurt. And the Oscar goes to!???

I have never had an interest in watching other people play a sport. It is okay for a few plays or to maybe while having a snack but certainly not for hours of watching repetitive play. I’m amazed it is the money machine it’s become. A lot of followers just seem to want to be part of something and being a big fan of a team helps satisfy that.

Soccar?

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Incorrect for many of us. I watch pro women’s tennis. Just watched the entire fortnight of Roland Garros, the French Open. I’m a rabid MotoGP fan. I watch every practice, qualifying, sprint, race, press conference, etc. 22 rounds too.

You sound salty because you started a soccar thread on here where you are pumped up. And in that thread you asked people who don’t like it to not post in your thread yet here you are posting in someone else’s thread. Hypocrisy. Wink

I lived, ate, and slept soccer in my youth. But even then, I couldn’t stand to watch the game. Sorry.

Well...maybe you need to get your ASS back into the MotoGP thread and do some posting! Some of us enjoyed reading comments from those that closely follow the sport. Big Grin

I started a business (side business separate from my career) this year. The torn tendon I was dealing with finally healed with stem cells. So I’m in the gym 7 days a week right now. 6 days training, 7th day recovery via steam, sauna, spa. I make all my own meals, 100% eating out of my kitchen. So that is a lot of time, prep, cooking, etc. Like many here, I run a household/home. Cutting the grass, doing the landscaping. All the vehicles need maintenance. I’m slammed. I watch ALL the MotoGP sessions and press conferences still. Just not a lot of time to do write ups. But go Bez and Pecco! And maybe for the first time I like a Spanish rider, Pedro. Rooting for him as he could be one of the greats. I nicknamed him “the rat” and he is going to Ducati next year and watch out. Should be some epic battles between him and his teammate, Marc, who I absolutely loathe. VR|46 bagged a win in Catalunya, and I was so happy for Digia. He is the nicest, most genuine rider on the grid and deserved it. That race was knarly and several riders could have died. Alex could have died on the straight during his crash and I don’t know how Zarco is even alive. His legs were wedged into Pecco’s rear wheel. Zarco was so high in the air, straight up, that he looked like he was on a NBA court about to dunk. I’m still amazed nobody died.

I’m 100% focused on relocating and getting out of this infernal state and metro I’m in. It’s going to consume most of my time for the next few years. It’s hell or high water time regarding that. Not much time spent right now sitting on my ass. I will try though. Still trying to get used to two simultaneous careers. I’m no spring chicken. It’s been 15 years since I was last working dual jobs/careers.
